Yngve Strypet. January 10, AM Hi! Jim Strawn. Eduardo Magnetto. January 11, PM in response to Yngve Strypet I think in short the full portfolio will be certified It's not easy Moreover, not long time ago Microsoft was saying that OpenGL support was not native on Vista but through a kind of proxy software a kind of translator. I think it won't be like this now. Anthony Powers. Keith Perkins. Milton Hartung. We have kind of messed around. The problem Anyone tried this before with any luck?
I'll keep posted if we get it running. COE Administrator. Steve Ward. Navin Gupta. The DS website has been showing the vista support press release for over 12 months now but its only by trying R18 on vista myself that I found out. Take a look at the hardware certification pages on the 3ds website and you wont see any mention of Vista on there!!
I have a dual boot on my thinkpad winxp 32bit and vista 64bit The reason being that I need to demo the V5 manuf stuff in R18 on 64bit to try and compete with computration performance of the delcams, mastercams, etc, etc but I also needed to have a full Delmia install and it doesnt support vista yet either!! Ahmed Alam. March 26, PM in response to Yngve Strypet I installed R18 no service pack on x64 Vista business, it looks all good till I tried to crreate a sketch with Geometrical Constraint on, it crashes everytime.
David Summerscales. CAA is not included. Hint: search the. Philip Barna. Thanks, Jim Lair. We are testing it now at work. Catia is NOT supported on Vista 32 bit. I am really liking Vista x Running it at work on new certified hardware Dell precisions and also at home on my personal gaming machine. I cant imagine going back to XP 32 bit Pay dirt! Where did you get them, your supplier or IBM? We could sure use the help and input from anyone.
Greatly appreciated, Jim Lair. Hope this helps. Roger Bombassei. Thank you for that link. I must have missed that one when reading through the messages. Our big concern here is the 64 bit processors. Our laptops are set up with the Windows XP64 operation system. Our old desktops are running Catia on a Windows XP32 platform.
We are impressed with the X64 productivity. The goal is to replace our old 32 bit desktops. Here is where we are stuck. We are having a little trouble finding information we would like to see it coming from DS , to help us make a decision.
That helps a lot. But we are still in the gray area. After visiting the site, where it said Catia V5R19 is fully compatible with Windows Vista, we are still full of concerns. Is there more information behind that declaration? Scott Pokriefka. R18 SP4 is the start of support for Vista bit, and than as stated before R19 supports Vista Enterprise 32 and 64 bit.
Phil Harrison. Why not use this as a stepping stone until Vista is more mainstream. Timothy John Suhr. October 29, AM in response to Yngve Strypet Phil, It would be of great assistance to the community at large if the CATBench took the same machine say one desktop workstation and one mobile workstation and showed V5 measures from both a 32 and 64 bit operating systems say Vista x86 and x64 respectively.
It might even show the 32 bit running under a 64 bit the 64 bit Vista using WOW Just food for thought. November 5, PM in response to Yngve Strypet Tim I agree that it would be really useful information to produce this type of white paper. Maybe you could drop Rich Perlman a note? I am getting this error - Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. I get that error when I try to run Configuration tool or Service Manager tool.
Posted by Derrek Cooper at PM. Now, I need to get the license mgr running as the targetid has changed?? Sorry I don't have any help for Vista bit.
